He is the second fellow countryman, following his successful older brother, who made his debut for the country’s first team. The Aaronson brothers are modern-day ambassadors of Philadelphia football in both the national championship and international competitions. Find out more information about the younger brother, Paxten Aaronson, including his earliest steps in football, career advancement, awards and comparison with his older brother at iphiladelphia.
The start and development of a professional career
Paxten Reid Aaronson was born on August 26, 2003. He was raised in an athletic family near the City of Brotherly Love. In addition to his famous brother Brenden, his younger sister Jaden is also engaged in sports. His father was the head of the local youth football club, and his grandfather was a huge fan of the world’s most popular sport in general.
Paxten began interested in football as a child, competing with his younger brother on a regular basis. Later, the parents had to make a three-hour trip every day to take both of them to the nearest football academy.
Paxton Aaronson received his football training at the Philadelphia Union’s YSC Academy. At first, it was tough for both young athletes to play in a team with much bigger and stronger players. Paxten in particular had to put in a lot of effort to make sure that in the fight for the ball, it was the other player who was on the ground rather than him.
After five seasons at the Academy, Aaronson was called up to the Philadelphia Union II, a reserve team that had already competed in the USL Championship. On July 22, 2020, our fellow countryman made his debut in the competition for the aforementioned team. He then took over for Steve Kingue in the second half against the New York Red Bulls II. This team belonged to an Austrian concern, which also had a team of the same name in Germany, from where they began to closely monitor Aaronson.
At the same time, the promising young midfielder signed his first professional contract with the Philadelphia Union team in 2021. Eventually, in his first game, the player scored a goal, which was later awarded with the league’s Goal of the Week honor.
The aforementioned successes pushed German managers to enter into discussions for the acquisition of a talented player. Aaronson’s transfer for more than $4 million allowed Eintracht Frankfurt to surpass its competitors.
Present time and honors
In the spring of 2023, he made his debut in the Bundesliga as a substitute at the end of the second half. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, their team lost 0-2 against Union Berlin, a team that Brenden Aaronson joined a few months later.
In 2022, on the eve of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which is contested among the countries of the North American continent, our compatriot was called up to the main youth team of the United States of America. Under the auspices of the championship, Aaronson scored seven goals in seven games. This performance earned him the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot Award. At the start of the new year 2023, he made his debut for the United States men’s national soccer team in a friendly match against Colombia.
Meanwhile, not everything in his club career went so well. At the end of the 2022-23 season, Paxten made only one assist while playing for Frankfurt for a total of more than one hundred and sixty-five minutes on the field.
During his yet short career, the Philadelphia attacking midfielder won silver medals in the American and German Cups, made the top eleven of the best youth players thanks to a triumph in the corresponding competition and won the Golden Ball and the CONCACAF U-20 Championship Golden Boot in 2022.
